Laboratory
The laboratory in the same system as the record and the billing.
HospiX runs the laboratory inside the same system that holds the patient record and the billing. A doctor issues a referral from an appointment, the result returns to the record, and tests enter the invoice as individual line items - with no second program and no re-typing.
Test catalogue
Every test is kept with a name, a type, and a price. The catalogue is maintained by an administrator and visible to everyone who works with patients.
Test groups are a selection aid, not a price
A group - a complete blood count, for instance - selects every test it contains in a single click. That is all it is: help with selection.
The referral and the invoice always list individual tests. If the same test appears in two selected groups, it is entered once.
Referral from an appointment
A referral is issued from an appointment and tied to the patient and to the doctor who issued it. It prints as a PDF - for the patient or for the laboratory.
While it is in progress a referral can be changed. Once staff mark it complete, the system records who closed it and when, and the contents no longer change - the same rule that protects the rest of the medical documentation.

Results in the patient record
A result arriving from the laboratory is attached as a PDF - to a specific appointment, or directly to the patient when it belongs to no visit. Either way it stays in the record and is there at the next examination.
Billing for tests
Only completed referrals are ready to bill. The referral price is the sum of the individual test prices from the list that applies to that payer - the same order as for other services: partner, then insurer, then the standard list.
Frequently asked questions
Does a test group have its own price?
No. A group only speeds up selecting tests; the referral price is the sum of the individual test prices from the applicable list.
Can a completed referral be changed?
No. Once a referral is marked complete, the system records who closed it and when, and the contents no longer change.
Where is a result from the laboratory kept?
As a PDF on the appointment it was ordered from, or directly on the patient if it belongs to no visit. Either way it stays in the record.
Is the laboratory billed separately from the examination?
Tests are separate line items, so they are billed together with the examination or on their own. Only completed referrals are ready to bill.
Does HospiX connect to laboratory analyzers?
Not in the standard delivery. Results are attached as PDFs; integration with an analyzer is a matter of separate agreement.
