The schedule is kept per doctor, in a day and a week view. An appointment is created, moved, and extended by dragging, in slots the clinic defines itself - fixed, or dynamic by the duration of the service. The system works the appointment length out on its own, from the services it carries.

An overlap for the same doctor is rejected the moment it is booked. The same rule exists at the database level itself, so a double booking does not get through even when two staff members book at the same time. A cancelled appointment frees its slot immediately.

An appointment moves through statuses: booked, waiting room, in progress, done - or cancelled. Every transition is recorded with a time, so management sees how long patients actually wait and how long examinations take - mean and median per doctor, not an impression.

A working schedule is kept for every doctor. Free slots are computed from that schedule and the appointments already taken, so booking only ever offers times that can actually hold - up to 60 days ahead, with the duration taken from the chosen services.

When the doctor sets a follow-up date in the medical report, the follow-up appointment is made from the existing one - one click, no re-entering the patient or the service. A service package covered by several doctors splits itself into one appointment with each of them.

Medical documentation opens from the appointment - the report, the anamnesis, the lab referral - and the invoice created alongside it is visible there too. Allergies and warnings from the record show up already at booking, and finalizing the report brings the appointment to a close on its own.

The appointment also carries the insurer and the partner who referred the patient, so billing later knows who owes what.
